At Premier Periodontics, we understand how severely damaged teeth impact our patients’ self-confidence in Bellevue, WA. Our team is dedicated to helping them improve and maintain their oral health. Our implant dentistry services offer immediate placement dental implants that use guided implant techniques, which allow some patients to have a tooth extraction and dental implant surgery at the same visit.

This procedure can remove and replace single teeth, multiple teeth, or an entire arch. It minimizes the number of times you have to visit our office. Some patients may require bone grafting for extra support for their implants. When you have teeth that cannot be repaired, we welcome you to schedule a consultation to learn more about one-day dental implants at one of our seven locations in state of Washington: Bellevue, Everett, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Olympia, and Redmond.

Who is the best candidate for one-day dental implants?

Immediate placement dental implants are ideal for patients who need tooth extractions due to severe tooth decay, advanced bone loss, extensive tooth damage, and functional teeth that cannot be saved. Before deciding to have immediate implants, our periodontal specialists can examine your mouth, review your health history and current medication list, and discuss all treatment options available to you. This treatment is not advisable for patients who are pregnant, who smoke, or have certain medical conditions.

What to expect with immediate placement implants

Before your procedure begins, our team at Premier Periodontics takes 3D cone beam images of your mouth and jaw, which helps them to plan where they will place your implants. On the day of your surgery, our skilled implant surgeon numbs the treatment site and can offer sedation dentistry to those who want extra comfort during their procedure. The tooth or teeth are surgically extracted, and any bone grafting tissue is placed (when necessary) to provide support for implants.

We use advanced guided implant surgery techniques, which allow us to accurately place implants. Sometimes, we can immediately restore appearance and function on the same day while other times an abutment or sutures are used on the tissue over the implant to give the area time to deal during osseointegration.

Implant recovery

It’s normal to experience soreness and swelling. You may be prescribed pain medication to minimize your discomfort during the healing process. Our periodontal specialists will offer instructions on how to best care for the area, so it heals properly. A follow-up visit to our office is scheduled to allow us to evaluate your healing and to schedule when we will place your final restoration.

Does insurance cover dental implants?

A portion of your extraction and dental implant procedure may be covered by your dental insurance. We will help you to maximize your insurance benefits. During your initial consultation, we will offer you an estimate of what you can expect your out-of-pocket expenses to be. We offer easy payment options, including CareCredit® or 12-month financing plans.
